Wuhan launches sea-rail transport service to Ningbo-Zhoushan Port
Wuhan, capital city of central China’s Hubei Province, launched a combined sea-rail transport service to the Ningbo-Zhoushan Port in east China's Zhejiang Province, on November 4.
A freight train carrying mechanical equipment, tea and non-woven products left Wuhan for Ningbo, marking the inauguration of the service.
It will arrive in the Ningbo-Zhoushan Port after a 2-day trip, before the goods are transferred onto a ship to reach ports in Italy and Morocco.
The Ningbo-Zhoushan Port saw annual cargo throughput exceed 1 billion tons. In 2020, the port recorded a total cargo throughput of 1,172.4 million tons, ranking first in the world.
