Wuhan wins Innovation Recovery Award at SCEWC 2021
Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province, won the Innovation Recovery Award at the Smart City Expo World Congress 2021 (SCEWC) held in Barcelona, Spain, on November 17.
Founded in 2011, the SCEWC is known as the world’s largest expo themed with smart city. It has been at the vanguard of change for cities, constantly pushing to create a better urban life by empowering citizens and enabling more efficient and inclusive urban services.
The Innovation Recovery Award is granted to projects with the potential of contributing to the successful transformation, adaptation or response to the COVID-19 pandemic or others that may occur in the future.
The award shows the effectiveness and achievements of Wuhan’s smart city construction in digital anti-epidemic fight, city recovery and intelligence in urban governance.
Wuhan was honored with the City Award at the World Smart City Awards (Greater China Area) on October 15 this year. Focusing on promoting the role of smart city in economic recovery during the post-epidemic period, the city stood out from 117 projects submitted by 47 provinces and cities across the country.
