Wuhan company signs at COCPDC to help cervical cancer screening in Pakistan
The 21st Conference on Overseas Chinese Pioneering and Developing in China (COCPDC) held a specific session for biomedicine on Nov. 17, where Landing-med, a medical device company in Wuhan, signed a cooperation agreement with a Pakistani hospital.
According to the agreement, Landing-med will provide cervical cancer screening for 10,000 Pakistani women based on an artificial intelligence technology.
Since 2017, the Hubei Provincial Women's Federation and the Hubei Provincial Health Commission have started using this AI technology during free cervical cancer screening for poor women in the province. As of October 2021, 2.09 million screenings had been completed.
Such technology has also been widely applied in Yunnan, Shanxi, Hebei and other Chinese provinces and cities with good feedback.
In November 2019, Landing-med launched an artificial intelligence cervical cancer screening project in Pakistan, which was rated as a key project in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor construction. According to the memorandum signed between China and Pakistan, the project will provide 10,000 Pakistani women with artificial intelligence cervical cancer screening, establish a cloud-based diagnostic research center and build a cervical cancer screening platform serving Pakistanis.
