Air service linking Wuhan, Chile opens, helping export of Chinese COVID-19 vaccines
Flight ET3651 of Ethiopian Airlines, carrying 1.02 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine developed in China, departed from Wuhan Tianhe International Airport on Dec. 1.
It is bound for Santiago, Chile, with a stopover in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
As the first regular flight opened in the airport to escort the export of Chinese COVID-19 vaccines, it marks the debut of an air route especially serving the export of Chinese COVID-19 vaccines from Hubei to Latin America.
During Jan.-Nov. period this year, Wuhan Tianhe International Airport has handled cargo and mail throughput from Latin America of 12,300 tons, accounting for more than 80 percent of the total air cargo volume between China and Latin America.
