Update information on COVID-19 cases in Hubei on April 16, 2022
No new local COVID-19 case was reported in Hubei on April 16. A total of 12 local asymptomatic carriers were identified (7 were reported in Wuhan. Among them, 3 were travelers from another province; 4 in Ezhou; 1 traveler from another province was reported in Huanggang). There was no inbound case, but one asymptomatic carrier from the Republic of Korea was found. Yesterday saw no suspected case or death. No inbound confirmed patient was discharged from hospital. Eight inbound asymptomatic carriers were discharged from medical observation (2 in Huangshi, 1 in Ezhou, 2 in Suizhou, 2 in Jingzhou, and 1 in Xiaogan).
As of 24:00, April 16, four local cases were hospitalized in the designated medical institution (1 in Wuhan with mild symptoms, 1 in Yichang with common symptoms, 1 in Enshi with mild symptoms, and 1 in Huanggang with mild symptoms). There was no suspected case in the medical institution. 303 local asymptomatic patients were under medical observation (123 cases in Wuhan, 1 in Xiaogan, 51 in Huanggang, 6 in Huangshi, 77 in Ezhou, 34 in Suizhou, 3 in Shiyan, 5 in Enshi, 2 in Jingmen, and 1 in Yichang).
No inbound case was receiving treatment in the designated medical institution. Four inbound asymptomatic patients were under medical quarantine.
A total of 63,879 patients were cured and discharged from hospital. 4,512 people died of the disease. A total of 68,395 cumulative confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Hubei. 6,522 close contacts were still under medical quarantine.
