Made-in-Wuhan NEVs speed to world markets
Every 118 seconds, a brand-new vehicle rolls off the production line at VOYAH's Wuhan plant, a national-level smart manufacturing demonstration facility powered by 5G and industrial internet. The factory, part of the Dongfeng Motor Corporation, exemplifies the speed and efficiency driving China's booming new energy vehicle (NEV) industry.
Located in central China's Hubei Province, the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone is home to Dongfeng's headquarters and a cluster of 10 automakers, 14 factories and more than 1,400 component suppliers, producing nearly one million vehicles annually. In late August, journalists from major Chinese media outlets visited VOYAH as part of the "Dynamic China Research Tour," organized by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
VOYAH, Dongfeng's premium smart NEV brand launched in July 2020, has rapidly risen to the industry forefront with innovations in platforms, electronic architecture, body, and chassis technologies. In November 2024, its Wuhan smart factory hosted a milestone celebration of China's 10 millionth NEV, an achievement highlighted in President Xi Jinping's New Year address.
The brand has also proven strong in the market. In the first half of 2025, VOYAH sold over 56,000 units, with monthly sales topping 10,000 for four straight months.
Internationally, VOYAH is among China's fastest-growing premium NEV brands, expanding into more than 40 countries since 2022, including Norway, the Netherlands and Italy. This year, it is preparing to enter Germany and France, aiming for a wider coverage of European markets.
