Wuhan records significant improvements in air quality in H1
Wuhan ranked the 15th among 262 Chinese cities in the real-time Air Quality Index (AQI) rankings which was released on August 13, 2025, standing out as a top performer among major metropolitan areas nationwide.
In the first half (H1) of 2025, the proportion of days with good air quality in Wuhan reached 81.2 percent, an increase of 8.1 percentage points year on year.
This environmental achievement has fueled a tourism boom. In H1, foreign arrivals via the airport in Wuhan surged 44 percent to over 60,000 compared to the same period last year.
