Optics Valley Youth Entrepreneurship Hub hosts quantum tech event
Optics Valley Youth Entrepreneurship Hub, established by Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC), held its first special event focused on the industrialization of quantum technology achievements on Aug 27. The event also featured a Quantum Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
Ten quantum technology companies and research teams showcased their latest advancements in quantum precision measurement and communication. These innovations span fields such as power detection, meteorological observation, and positioning navigation, with several pioneering technologies developed in OVC.

Renowned experts in the quantum field, investment institutions, and enterprises involved in application scenarios gathered to discuss industry development pathways and future trends.
"Wuhan's strength lies not only in its research capabilities but also in its ability to rapidly transform academic breakthroughs into industrial capacities," said Han Xuan, a researcher at the Wuhan Institute of Quantum Technology. "In the future, this city will become a crucial global hub for the industrialization of quantum technology."
OVC has employed its optoelectronic industry advantages to establish a presence in quantum communication and computing. Through policy guidance and resource integration, the zone is accelerating the transition of quantum technology from the laboratory to the market.
To address early-stage project financing challenges, OVC has launched an initial 100 million yuan ($14.02 million) quantum technology fund, which has already assisted Yuncheng Zhimu Satellite, Zhongke Taifeisi, and XT Quantech in the investment preparation phase.
